Will the lectroject herpes treatment still work for me?

When the sores first appeared on my penis and pubic region, I bought a steroid based ointment to try and treat it. It didn't work after two weeks of application. So, I started using Curash, which is a talcolm based powder to treat baby rash that did help to supress the discomfort. Symptoms were still appearing after 9 months, so I finally went to the doctor and to have it examined and confirmed it was herpes.

Will lectroject work even though I used a steroid based ointment in the begining? This ointment contains BETAMETHASONE dipropionate, clotrimazole, gentamicin sulfate.
