Will I still be contagious, transmit herpes?

by Jordan
(Canada)

Will I still be contagious after using lectroject? How long am I supposed to wait to take my blood test?

Answer
The answer is no. If the lectroject treatment was successful it means that you don't have the herpes virus any more (cured). You can not transmit a disease that no longer exists. i.e. If the treatment was successful it shouldn't be possible to transmit the disease no.

With the standard IgM/IgG (Elisa) test, if the treatment was successful the result will be IgM negative IgG positive as there will still be antibodies in the blood.

Antibodies stay in the blood as a normal defense mechanism. They do not tell us anything about the likelihood of transmission or whether the virus has been eliminated from the body.

A PCR test will be negative indicating that no viral DNA could be detected. The absence of viral DNA means no Virus = no Disease no Outbreaks. Cured!

A P.C.R DNA test is taken at any time following completion of treatment. The PCR test measures the amount of viral DNA in the body and is used in all advanced countries and can be done at any Pathology Lab.
