Is Herpes Dangerous For My Baby?

by Fatima Malaki
(Iraq-Erbil)

I am almost 3 month pregnant, My result test of Texoplasma is : Igm= Negative. IgG= 22.4 IU/ml which means positive, please let me know is it dangerous for my baby or not what should i do. this is my first baby and I am 31.

Answer
What are the risks to my unborn baby if I have genital herpes?

You can't give your baby herpes in the womb. Newborn herpes is relatively rare, but the disease can be devastating, so it's important to learn how to reduce your baby's risk of becoming infected. It can only be spread to the child during childbirth and your doctor will help you make the birth as safe as possible so you don't spread it to the baby. You deffinitely do not want your child to get it. So be sure tell the doctor that you have it.
