My brother's friend recently contracted herpes, carried over by his girlfriend who had sex with another guy, and now he is so affraid it's for life.
Can you advice Acyclovir herpes antiviral Zovirax in this case? I would be happy to hear from you.
Answer
Once positively diagnosed your doctor may prescribe suppressive antiviral drugs such as acyclovir (Zovirax) valacycolvir (Valtrex) and famciclovir (Famfir), while not 100% effective can vary, depending on the method of administration, from 47% to 85% successful.
Oral Therapy. Acyclovir is usually administered orally for genital HSV. Oral acyclovir may be prescribed for seven to 10 days during primary infections; benefit occurs within one to three days if the drug is started promptly. When taken early enough, acyclovir reduces the duration of the infection, its pain, and new lesion formation, and also reduces viral shedding.
Iontophoretic Drug Delivery. It would be correct to say that acyclovir taken orally cannot reach the virus that have lodged in neural ganglia as the drug taken orally is circulated through the blood. The Lectroject system uses particle transport technology which operates independently of the bloodstream - The flow of atoms is directly through the body and are able to reach any cell anywhere.
The Difference between oral medication (pills) is that with pills the medication goes into the stomach and digestive track where a significant percentage of the drug is destroyed by gastric juices. It is then passed into the bloodstream where it circulates through the liver and is metabolized until there's nothing left of the drug.
With the Lectroject system atoms of medication is concentrated by 50 times its normal strength and the (drug) follows an ionic stream through the body independently of blood flow. The atom of acyclovir is inserted into the cell where the virus is, the acyclovir atom interferes with the DNA of the virus and prevents it from replicating. The virus becomes dormant and is eliminated from the body in the normal way (by metabolism).
How acyclovir works: Acyclovir interferes with the enzymes the virus needs for replication of DNA in cells and prevents the virus from multiplying. It is also incorporated into the virus DNA chain which terminates replication. In short we use words like kill, eliminate to describe this process. So antivirals kill viruses or stop viruses from multiplying. The machine itself does not cure herpes, it delivers medication to the cell. The success or failure depends entirely on the medication used.
A typical course is a ½ hour session daily for 10 to 15 treatments after which the virus should be eradicated (like in gone). To satisfy yourself that you are free from the disease you have a P.C.R. DNA test which detects viral DNA. When PCR is negative it means that no viral DNA could be detected. i.e. No viral DNA means no virus, therefore no disease. Cured. And what's more you cannot transmit a disease that no longer exists in your body.
